My name is Alex Young. I am 22 years old and grew up in Beaver, Pennsylvania, which is about a half an hour north of Pittsburgh. I am currently a senior at Penn State Behrend. I will be graduating in May of 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Post-graduation, I will be working full-time as an auditor at an accounting firm and will be working towards becoming a CPA.
When I’m not busy with schoolwork, I like to spend my time staying active and getting outside. In the warmer months I love to play tennis, run, and go on hikes with my dog. In the warm months I like do a lot of running. I am currently training to run my first marathon in May. In the winter I try to get out and ski as much as possible. Above is a picture of me skiing with my mom last year.
My Skills
Education Experience
2022-2024
Penn State Behrend
Accounting (Junior & Senior Year)
For the past two years I have been finishing my degree in accounting at Penn State Behrend, in Erie, Pennsylvania. After I graduate in May I will begin studying for the CPA exams and begin working as an auditor.
2021-2022
Penn State Beaver
Business: Accounting (Sophomore Year)
After my freshman year, I transferred to Penn State Beaver. Here I briefly had to change my major to a Business degree with an accounting minor because Penn State Beaver did not have a full accounting program. I decided that it wasn't happy settling for this change, so after one year I transferred to Penn State Behrend so that I could complete an accounting degree and pursue becoming a CPA.
2020-2021
Waynesburg University
Accounting (Freshamn Year)
I spent my Freshman year of college at Waynesburg University in Greene County, Pennsylvania. Here I was introduced to the accounting field, where I decided that this was the career path I wanted to pursue. Unfortunately, I found that university was not for me, which is why I transferred to Penn State.
